Good DNS is fast everywhere. When a DNS query comes in from Manchester, it gets an answer from a local resolver in milliseconds. When it comes in from Sydney, same answer, almost the same speed. Good DNS is authoritative. When you change a record, the change propagates fast, through servers you control, in a predictable window. Not the mysterious forty eight hours that low end providers quote.
