We are putting the price of our Starter hosting plan up, from £2.99 a month to £3.99 a month. That change applies to new sign-ups only.
If you are already a customer, your price does not change. Not this month, not at renewal, not in three years. That is worth stating plainly at the top, because it is the only part of this post most people need.
Why Your Price Cannot Move
When you subscribed, your subscription was tied to the price that existed on that day. Putting a new price on the website creates a new one alongside it. It does not reach back and touch yours. This is not a policy we promise to remember. It is how the billing is built, which means we could not quietly raise your rate even if we wanted to.
The only thing that moves you onto current pricing is you choosing to change plan. If you upgrade or downgrade, you get the price of the plan you move to, on the day you move to it. That is the same for everyone.
Why We Are Putting It Up At All
The honest answer is that £2.99 was too low to hold for ever, and for ever is exactly what we promised.
Most hosting companies can advertise a very low number because they take it back later. The going rate for entry level shared hosting in the UK is somewhere between £7 and £9 a month once the introductory deal runs out. The £1.99 and £2.99 headlines you see elsewhere generally require three or four years paid up front, and then renew at three to five times what you first paid.
We do not do that, so our first price has to be a price we can still afford to honour in 2031. At £2.99 on a three year term, we were signing customers up at two pounds a month for the rest of the time they stayed with us. That is not a sustainable number for UK based support, hardware we own outright, and a business that intends to still be here.
£3.99 is. It is still well under half what the same specification costs at the hosts we consider our peers, and it is a price we can defend for the life of the account rather than for the length of a promotion.
What Is Actually Changing
Starter goes from £2.99 to £3.99 a month for new customers. The annual and multi-year prices move in line with it.
Our Business, Premium and Enterprise hosting plans keep their monthly prices exactly as they are. We have trimmed the discount on the three year terms slightly, for the same reason as above: a permanent one third discount, on a price that can never rise, is a promise that gets harder to keep every year we grow.
On the email side, a handful of the annual and multi-year totals have been rounded by a few pence. One of them went down. These are tidying-up changes rather than a price rise, and the monthly prices are untouched.
What Is Not Changing
Not the specification. Starter still includes the same storage, the same free SSL, the same one click installer, the same control panel, the same backups. We have not quietly moved anything into a higher tier to justify the number.
Not the promise. New customers at £3.99 get the same deal you got: that is their price, permanently.
Not your bill.

It does not, unless you are about to sign up for the first time. Your current price is on your billing page, and it is the number you will keep paying.
