The three year plan is always the best value on the page. Bigger discount, lowest monthly equivalent, a badge saying most popular. There is usually a genuine saving in it.
It is worth understanding what else you are buying.
What The Provider Gets
Cash today instead of cash monthly, which is straightforwardly good for them. But the more valuable part is time.
Three years is long enough that the person who chose the host may have moved on. Long enough that the site gets rebuilt without anyone revisiting where it lives. Long enough that when the renewal notice arrives at full price, the effort of moving feels larger than the difference.
A long term does not just delay churn. It quietly reduces it, because it removes the regular moment where you might reconsider.
The Refund Question
Read what happens if you leave in month eight. Many providers refund only unused whole months, and only after deducting the value of the discount you received, which can mean a three year plan cancelled early refunds surprisingly little.
Some are more generous than that. The point is that the answer is knowable before you commit, and almost nobody looks.
When It Is A Good Deal
When you have checked the renewal rate, you are happy with the provider, and the discount is real rather than a comparison against an inflated monthly price. Under those conditions, paying for longer is simply cheaper and there is nothing wrong with it.
What we would avoid is committing for years to a provider you have used for a fortnight. Take the short term first. See how they behave when something breaks, because that is the only test that tells you anything. Commit once you know.
We offer annual pricing because it genuinely costs us less to bill once. We do not push three year terms, and we do not need a long contract to keep you. If the service is worth staying for, you will stay.
